Biography:
Lorette B LeBourdais Brillant - Born on September 30th 1922 in Brunswick Maine to George & Almina Labbe LeBourdais. She had 17 brothers and sisters and lived on Mill Street in Brunswick which was known as Little Quebec. She attended St John's Catholic School in Brunswick where she learned the English language. She worked at the Cabot Cotton Mill in Brunswick to help with family income.
She learned ballroom dancing in exchange of teaching the English language to a local from Quebec. She married Joseph Heleodore (Zeke) Brillant from Topsham and together they raised a family of five: Paul, Suzanne, Arlene, Doris, and Rachel. Lorette was a wonderful cook and expressed her love through casseroles and sweets that she baked for her family.
She enjoyed vacationing in Arizona, gambling on slot machines, playing cards with the Brillant family, playing cribbage with her husband, son-in-law, Jack Bourque and daughter, Rachel. She enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. She loved playing bingo with her family and friends at the Evergreens Senior Center. Her favorite pastime was playing Parcheesi with her sister-in-laws, Lucie Jean, Yvonne Drolet and brother-in-law, Lucien Brillant and his wife, Midge.
She is pre-deceased by her husband and granddaughter Kathie Ducharme.
She leaves behind her children: Paul Brillant, Suzanne Garrison, Arlene Alexander, Doris Bourque, and Rachel Riendeau; her grandchildren: Amy
Richard, Will Brillant, Echo and Joe Alexander, Russ and Ricki Riendeau; great-grandchildren: Jessica Cochrane, Alex and Lexi O'Camb, Eva Alexander, Ripley Riendeau, Scarlet Deutsche-Riendeau, Ryeler Riendeau-Johnson, and Rivit Wallace; her great-great-grandchildren: Charlie and Jeremy Cochrane.
A special thank you to Lorette's son-in-law, Jack Bourque, for his unending help in maintaining her property in Topsham, hand delivering her newspaper every morning and running countless errands.
