Biography:
SCARBOROUGH – Helen M. Collins, 68, of North Yarmouth, died on May 21st, 2012 after a short illness at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born in Yarmouth on January 30th, 1944 the daughter of Virgil O. Cruea and Arlene P. (Fitts) Cogswell.
Helen attended Yarmouth schools. She was a long time employee of Anderson Lobster Traps.
She married William Collins on May 16th, 1987. Helen enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and gardening.
Helen was a very kind and compassionate person and loved all those around her.
She is survived by her beloved husband William; daughter Sandra Davenport; step-daughters Nicole Collins, Keri Harris, Patti Maney; granddaughters Amanda Lothrop and husband Matthew, Rebecca Davenport; great-grandson Griffin Lothrop; sisters Linda Clukey and husband David, Nancy McKeil; brother Roy Cogswell; special Aunt Dorcas Fitts; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Noyes; parents; and previous husband Nelson DeNoyell.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thursday, May 31st, at 2PM at Riverside Cemetery, Route 88, Yarmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough, ME 04074.
