Biography:
WINTHROP -- Patricia Nadine (Lowden) Hellmuth, 81, of Winthrop and formerly of Augusta, passed away Feb. 8, 2010, at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center in Winthrop, where she had lived for the past five years.
She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Windsor, the only surviving child of the late Harold and Marion (Gordon) Lowden.
She grew up in Windsor and graduated from Erskine Academy in South China in 1946.
In August 1948, she married David Parker, of Windsor, who passed away in 1950.
In 1957, she married the late Rev. Elmer Hellmuth, with whom she had two children: David and Katherine. She was employed for more than 40 years by New England Telephone in operations and engineering before retiring in the late 1980s.
She was a member of Penney Memorial United Baptist Church in Augusta and also enjoyed the bimonthly sermons held by East Winthrop Baptist Church at her home at Heritage.
She is survived by a son, David and his partner, Tracy, of Gardiner; a daughter, Katherine and her husband, Tony, of Chelsea; a granddaughter, Tiffany and her fiancé, Tristan, of Chelsea; and a granddaughter, Brittany, of Augusta. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the employees and fellow residents of Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center in Winthrop and the staff of A-3 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for their wonderful care and support.
A service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at East Winthrop Baptist Church. A reception will immediately follow at 156 Sewall St. in Augusta. There will be a spring interment at Dyer Hill Cemetery in Windsor.
