Edwin 'Ed' Bourgoin

Date of Death: December 19, 2013

Date of Birth: January 31, 1940

Biography:

Edwin "Ed" Bourgoin 73 of Waterville passed away after a short illness of pancreatic cancer on Dec. 19th. He was one of 11 children born to Edmund and Albertine Bourgoin on Jan. 31st, 1940. He married Sandra (Gregory) Bourgoin in 1959 who predeceased him in 1983.  Dad was a man of few words but the look in his eyes said more than words could ever say! We knew how proud he was of his son Paul when he retired from the Navy as his eyes teared when he was presented the flag flown on the USS Ronald Reagan by Paul's captain.  He wore Paul's USS Nimitz coat with great pride. Still a man of few words. He would make phone calls to his daughter early in the mornings to say "I Love You" and have a great day! Short but to the point. He was proud of Lori's many missionary trips to Honduras to help provide dental care. Dad was blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren Monica, Tiffany, Alton and Nicholas.  1 Great grand-daughter Aimee.  Dad loved to go for rides in his car around China Lake with his friend Derene. He would drive to Belfast for a hot dog or to New Hampshire for a cup of coffee! Followed Nascar and the Patriots. He always had  his dog Molly with him and was sure to spoil her with a doggie bag.  Ed also was known for making the best peanut butter fudge ever!  We will miss you Dad! And will find comfort in knowing your with Mom. We will treasure every moment we shared with you especially when you asked for a hug the day you passed away. You didn't want a fuss and you left us peacefully. You will always be in our hearts. He is survived by his son Paul and wife Elizabeth Bourgoin of Winslow, daughter Lori and her husband Alton Hawk of China. Grandchildren, many brothers, sisters, friends and in-laws. Please make a donation in Ed's memory to your local animal shelter or a cancer society of your choice. A memorial service will be held in the spring. His final resting place will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
