Biography:

Albert W. Donovan, 76, passed away peacefully, June 21rst at Hospice House in Auburn, ME. He was born 3/13/45 in Lewiston, ME. A son of the late William and Mildred Donovan. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964, where he was a member of the State Champion Blue Devils Hockey team. After a couple of years in the Army as a weapons instructor he worked for Louis Chevrolet in Lewiston and then opened Donovan Motors in Lewiston. Al was an icon in the auto industry for over 5 decades and his business was his passion.

He was predeceased by his parents William and Mildred Donovan, brother William Donovan, sister Cookie Donovan, and his beloved wife Susan Donovan.

He is survived by his sons Randy Donovan and wife Patty; Shawn Donovan and partner Hillary Skinner; sister Margaret Donovan; sister Cindy Harradon and husband Tim Harradon; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Al always had a good joke and a great attitude. His love for cars was unsurpassed and he cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life, Saturday, June 26th at 1:00 pm at Donovan’s Used Cars in Greene, ME.
