Biography:

SMITHFIELD - Evelyn Dostie, of Smithfield, formerly Belgrade, passed away on Friday April 9,
2021 at Maine General Hospital Augusta.
She was born October 2, 1954 in Portland and raised on Peaks Island. After moving to Augusta
she met the love of her life Florian "Tank" Dostie in 1973 and spent her life creating happiness
with him at every turn.
Evelyn was a hard worker who helped run the family business, Dostie's Garage. When she
wasn't working she loved gardening, watching the birds, being on the ocean, hunting in the
North Maine Woods and in her early days enjoyed coaching youth softball and was a skilled and
avid photographer. Her fondest times were spent with family, especially her late husband Tank
and her many dogs and cats through the years.
She is survived by her children Becky Dostie and fiance Carl Woodward, Crystal Corbett and
husband Adam Corbett, Nicholas Dostie; niece Heidi Coons, and great niece Kayla Burke;
granddaughter Abigail Corbett; Brothers Tim Burgess and George Burgess and sister Sandra
Smith; and her beloved dogs Remington and Jackson. She had many other cousins, nieces,
nephews and friends that were always there, too many to name. She was predeceased by her
husband Florian "Tank" Dostie and parents George and Carol Burgess.
At her request there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held on May 23, 2021
from 1-3 at the Augusta Elks Lodge Augusta.
