Annette J. Frechette

Date of Death: August 10, 2021

Date of Birth: June 25, 1932

Biography:

Annette J. Leblanc Frechette (affectionately known as “Meegah”), age 89, of Auburn, Maine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 10, 2021. She was born on June 25, 1932 to Roy and Marie Leblanc.

Annette attended St. Louis School in Auburn, Berwick Academy in South Berwick, and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1950. While at EL, she was a member of the Outing Club, the Chorus, and the Order of Gregg Artists. After high school, Annette lived in Fairport, NY and worked for the Messenger Post newspaper. She returned to Lewiston where she worked for more than 30 years as a bookkeeper for the family business, G. A. Frechette Electric, Inc., then for several years at Community Credit Union, retiring in 1994.

Annette was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Lewiston until its closing, then of Sacred Heart Parish in Auburn. She had a beautiful voice and would perform at local clubs such as the Musical Literary Club and the Montagnard Club. She loved to travel and enjoyed yearly trips to St. Thomas. Annette excelled at solving cryptogram puzzles, and enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. During the pandemic, she marveled at how technology allowed her to virtually visit with loved ones near and far. She was wonderfully supportive, positive, and had a very quick wit.

Annette is survived by her sisters Venise Dube and Irene (Warren) Witas, her children Patricia Malcuit and husband Jim of Conway, South Carolina, Gary Frechette and wife Cathy of South Paris, Susan Hodge and husband Bryan of Naples, and John Frechette and wife Bobbi of Lewiston. She is also survived by her grandchildren Esther, Joy, Matthew, Allison, Auburn Dawn, Leah, and Jamie, and great-grandchildren Abbigail, Madelyn, Isaiah, and Jeanae, as well as several special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Roland Leblanc and Gerry Leblanc, sisters Rita Leblanc, Germaine County, and Georgette Boucher, and grandson Russell Frechette.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Russell Park for taking care of Annette’s every need. Their compassion and generosity were unsurpassed and meant everything to Annette in her final days.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Monday, August 16th, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Graveside committal services will be held immediately following the Mass at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Auburn.
