Date of Birth: October 26, 1956

Biography:

Augusta-Linda S. Goodblood passed away peacefully February 10, 2019 in her home in Augusta with her life partner Karl Fickett Jr. by her side after a several year battle against cancer.  Linda was born in Waterville on October 26, 1956 the daughter of Ruel Sr. and Joyce (Hunt) Goodblood.

After graduating from MCI in 1974, Linda enlisted in the Army Reserve doing basic training in Corpus Christie, TX. and then on to Ft. Lewis in Washington state where she did nurses training. Returning to the state of Maine she was employed by several nursing homes, the Maine State Railroad, the Maine State Bridge Crew, but Linda’s most rewarding job was when she worked at MVRA where she worked with individuals with developmental disabilities where she had the opportunity to enrich many others lives.

She was a loving companion, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved to trout fish, deer hunt, camp, be on a motorcycle with the wind in her hair, dance, play cribbage and to just have a good time enjoying life. She was very proud of owning and riding her own Harley Davidson Sportster and on many occasions she would be the one to return to camp with the only or largest catch of the day. She touched many souls with her smile, love and kindness. Linda will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda is survived by her life partner of 26 years, Karl Fickett Jr. of Augusta, her  daughter, Courtney (LaPlante) Barton and her husband Taylor and their children, Riley and Thatcher of Londonderry, Vt,  her mother Joyce (Hunt) Goodblood of Burnham, her brother Ruel "Dude" Goodblood Jr. of Troy, her sister Kelly Goodblood and her husband Lance Bedford of Troy.

Linda was predeceased by her grandparents, Percey Sr. and Emily Goodblood, Boyce and Margarette Hunt and her father Ruel Goodblood Sr.

The family would like to say thank you to Linda's best friend ... Linda "Red" Taylor ... always by her side, always had her back, was by her side through her many treatments. Thank you Red ... for loving her as we did. A special thank you to all at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center and Maine General hospice and their employees who took such good care of Linda over the past several years. The kindness and compassion given to your patients and their families will come back to you.
