Biography:

Matthew Thomas MacMillan of North Yarmouth, 24 died tragically May 4, 2018 in a motorcycle accident. He was born July 28, 1993 the son of Thomas MacMillan and Melody Seymour. Matt was a 2011 graduate of Freeport High School where he was a star varsity football player and friend to many. After graduating Matthew went to work for S.E. MacMillan and All States Asphalt. He later was employed by Johnson and Jordan where he began his career as a plumber's apprentice and was excitedly awaiting to begin his journeymen. Matt was a lifelong adventurer living his life to the fullest while constantly striving to set and achieve new goals. He enjoyed hiking, canoeing, wood working, weight lifting, politics and was very patriotic. He loved his family, exemplified goodness and was an inspiration to all. He spent countless hours fiddle heading and watching The New York Giants with his father. Matt selflessly and with great pride assisted his mother with the remodeling of her home and was always her saving grace. He had an inseparable bond with his confidante and sister Rebecca and shared a love of ATV/Street riding with his older brother Shane and younger brother Michael. Matt loved devoting time to his fiancée Sara and his dog Julius. Upon his passing his organs were donated in the hope of saving another's life. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered for his smile, courage, compassion, loyalty and strength. Survivors include his father Thomas MacMillan of North Yarmouth, Mother Melody Seymour of Lisbon Falls, Sister Rebecca MacMillan, Brothers Shane Clarke and Michael Seymour, Nephews Skyler and Tucker Clarke, Step siblings Paul and Megan Seymour, Finance Sara Jo Vickery and dog Julius of Hollis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at noon at the Pownal Congregational Church, 461 Elmwood Road in Pownal. In lieu of flowers donations in Matt's memory may be made to Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brunswick, ME 04011.
