Biography:

TOPSHAM – Newbern H. Miner (Bud), 86, passed away in his home early Thursday evening April 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Berkshire, Vermont on August 21, 1930 the son of the late Donald Miner and Della (Kenfield) Miner. He was second eldest of 16 children. He attended local schools, and graduated from Standish High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves for nearly 8 years from January 8, 1951 and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1958. He loved music and was very talented and could play any song after hearing it a few times. He played the accordion, piano, organ, keyboard, harmonica and before falling ill was learning to play the guitar. He played in a Country and Western Band led by Ted Varney & The Melody Mountain Boys in Maine. He worked at The Maine Turnpike Authority from 1973 until he retired in 1992, but continued to work part time for the MTA until 2010.

He married the love of his life Rose Marie Berry on Dec. 1, 1956 they shared 60 plus years of marriage. He was a devoted loving husband, a loving father and an amazing grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife Rose Marie, his three daughters, Dawn Ringuette of Naples, Patricia Thebeau and her husband Adam of Lisbon Falls, Tammy Miner of Portland, his son Newbern H. Miner Jr and his wife Lisa of Cumming of Georgia; he is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher Emery of Tampa, Florida, Adam Thebeau and fiancé Ashley of Brunswick, Spenser Thebeau of Lisbon Falls, Christine Miner and fiancé Justin of New Sharon, Victoria Friedman and husband Charles of Portland, Alexandra Miner and Jacqueline Miner of Cumming, Georgia. He is also survived by 10 siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and five of his siblings.

His family would like to thank Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice for the tender loving care and support from the wonderful staff.

At Newbern's request there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
To honor his memory there will be a celebration of his life in the near future.
