Date of Birth: June 18, 1938

Biography:

AUGUSTA -- Virginia Marlene Parlin left this earth on Jan. 11, 2010, to be with her father, mother and brother, Stanley Merry, but most of all, to be with her one true love, Stan, who left us all in 2005.

She was born June 18, 1938, in Wiscasset, to Wilder and Margaret (Ray) Merry.

In 1956, she married Stanley Parlin and moved to Augusta. She retired after working at Central Maine Power Co. for several years after raising two wonderful daughters.

She enjoyed the company of family and friends, whether it was camping, dancing or just shopping, but most recently a new great-grandson, whom she thought the world of. She was a longtime member of Green Street Methodist Church in Augusta.

She is survived by daughters Deborah Ann Campbellton and her husband, Billy, of Chelsea, and Tina Marie Monroe and her husband, Steven, of Augusta; two beautiful granddaughters, Felicia Ann Ward and her husband, Christopher, of Jefferson and Nasya Anne Monroe and her boyfriend, Trevor, of Augusta; but most of all, she leaves behind a handsome baby boy, her great-grandson Aidan Lee.

Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Green Street Methodist Church in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association .
