Henry H. Vosburgh

Date of Death: August 9, 2016

Date of Birth: August 12, 1942

Biography:

Henry H. Vosburgh passed away on August 9th at his home in Auburn, ME. He was born in Springfield, the son of Madeleine (Lamoureux) and Harold Vosburgh. Henry was educated in the West Springfield, Massachusetts school system and attended Springfield Technical Community College. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He fulfilled his dream as a member of the West Springfield Police department retiring in 1993.

Henry married his longtime partner, Marty McIntyre in May of 2016. They made their home in Auburn, Maine. Henry was an avid fisherman and spent the warm months at the Four Mile River Marina in Niantic, Ct.

Besides his wife, Henry leaves his son Jacob of Agawam, his daughter Samantha Miller of Euless Texas, his grandchildren Abigail and Jeffrey Miller who were the joy of his life, his stepchildren Jason McIntyre, Sarah Kelley, and Ben McIntyre and his step-grandchildren Brendan and Ian McIntyre, Brodie, Matthew, Eva and Dylan Kelley, Isabel and Kara McIntyre. He also leaves his brothers Michael and wife Eileen Vosburgh, Anthony and wife Terry Vosburgh, and his brother in law Murray Levine, all of West Springfield, along with many dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by parents and his sisters Ann Levine and Maureen Vosburgh.

Special thanks to the staff and doctors at Central Maine Medical Center, friends Gino Gallo and Audrey Alexander through whom he met his wonderful wife, and the crew at the marina, especially the Viecellis and Asselins. Henry enjoyed being with all of you, out on his boat fishing and talking on the radio, the sun sparkling off the water, Henry smiling. That’s the way he wanted to be remembered. He is sailing on his last cruise now, and he sends best wishes and love to all, especially his beloved Marty.

All arrangements will be private with burial at the convenience of the family. Donations in Henry’s memory can be made to Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services, P.O. Box 6, Auburn, Maine, where his wife worked.
